Every Pit Has A Story
When you start growing avocados, you quickly learn it’s not as simple as sticking a seed in soil and waiting for a tree. Every pit tells a story. In my case, five pits became a study in patience, variability, and small miracles.
Five pits, same soil, same pot, same care. Yet each chose its own destiny: – One died after sprouting and transplanting — the new soil turned out to be toxic, and changing it came too late. – One grew tall and strong. – One produced two sprouts from the same pit. – Two grew slowly, hesitant but alive. From that, I could draw a simple observation: 20% die, 20% thrive, 20% overachieve, and 40% take their time.
